How To Deal with The Water in The Four-Column Hydraulic Press System

During the working process of the four-column hydraulic press system, sometimes failures can happen. One of them is water entering the oil tank. At this time, the first thing to do is to stop the operation of the machine immediately. Then the following treatments according to the actual situation:

  1. The Situation of Water Entering the Oil Tank of The Hydraulic Press

According to the natural principle, the gravity of water is greater than that of oil. Therefore, the water will gradually settle at the bottom of the tank. When water is found, immediately stop the operation of the hydraulic machine. Let the oil in the tank stand for a few hours so that the water has enough time to settle. Then, open the drain valve at the very bottom of the tank and let the sedimented water out. If the temperature of the oil tank is low, the oil temperature can be heated up to 60°C. This will help the oil-water separation. This treatment method is suitable for hydraulic oils that have not been over-emulsified.

  1. Use A Filter with Water Absorption Function

For a small amount of water inflow or a system with a low degree of emulsification, a hydraulic oil filter with a water absorption function can be used. It will help to filter out the water in the oil. This type of filter also gets rid of impurities in the oil.

  1. Use a vacuum dehydrator to remove moisture

If the amount of oil in the tank is large, a vacuum dehydrator can be used to remove the water. The most common vacuum dehydrator uses the principle that the evaporation temperature of the water is reduced under vacuum conditions. The evaporation capacity is large to completely separate oil and water. It quickly removes moisture from hydraulic oil, including most dissolved water. This method is suitable for most water ingress situations, including heavily emulsified oils.

  1. Replace the oil

If the oil is seriously polluted or there is a lot of water inflow, replace the hydraulic oil. After draining the oil Contaminated by water, add new oil to the lowest oil level the oil pump can circulate. Then start the oil pump to circulate and continuously carry out various actions of the hydraulic press system. This will get the trapped in various valve parts and moving parts flow back to the oil tank. Then drain the fuel tank and replace it with new working oil. The machine can then be used normally.
